The UAMS Institute for Community Health Innovation is committed to improving the health and well-being of women experiencing perimenopause and menopause. We work collaboratively with women, health care providers, researchers, health systems, and community partners to turn those priorities into meaningful research and practical solutions.
Our Approach
Listen to Women: We ask women directly about their experiences, needs, concerns, and research priorities related to perimenopause and menopause.
Identify the Questions That Matter Most: We bring together women with lived experience, researchers, clinicians, and other partners to identify and prioritize the questions that are most important to women.
Build Research Around Those Priorities: We develop patient-centered research designed to answer questions that can improve women’s health, health care, and quality of life.
Turn Research Into Action: We work with health systems, clinicians, community organizations, and other partners to translate what we learn into programs and approaches that can improve care.
“We want to hear from women. We want to understand what matters. And we want to work together to turn those priorities into better research, programs and care.” – Pearl McElfish, Director of the Institute for Community Health Innovation
